Tonight I went to see the country music group Little Big Town at my hometown’s Florida Strawberry Festival.  One if there latest songs is titled “Free”.  This songs talks about how all the things we truly want in life are free…memories and cherished things passed down from family, and spending time with those we love.  It made me think about an arrangement in my home.
Just something about this arrangement makes me smile.  This conglomeration is a focal point in my family room.
The “You are my sunshine” plaque reminds me of my mom and granny singing it, and I used to sing it to my children when they were little. When my eldest, Hunter, was an infant, this was the song I was singing to him when he had his first real smile and eye-to-eye contact.
Sunflowers make me happy and I love how they follow the sun, just like we should follow The Son. Please visit https://soakinguptheson.com/2016/05/03/soaking-up-the-sunflowers/ to read “Soaking up the Sunflowers”)
The pic of my man and I on a travel adventure warms my heart, especially when I see it on top of the Bible. Our marriage is standing on His principles. People often ask how to make a marriage work, and my reply is to keep Christ in the center of your relationship…and some fun adventures with your spouse doesn’t hurt either  (wink wink)
The photo of my kiddos when they were young…loving each other. Yes! As time has passed it seems that the kids aren’t as affectionate with one another as they were back then. Ok, not just “it seems”, it’s a fact.  One day…It is my prayer that my kids will one day appreciate each other like they did when they were younger.  The older my brothers and I get, the closer we get to one another.
And finally the jar of shells that Cole used to collect when he was a toddler which reminds me that we are all broken. (Visit https://soakinguptheson.com/2012/02/28/247/ for the whole story.)
All these precious memories are priceless to me.
Friend, memories and quality time aren’t the only things free in life.  Jesus’ love for you is free to you  It cost our Heavenly Father His Son, and He thinks you are worth it!  He loves YOU so much.  Please don’t put the most important decision in your life on hold while your chasing your “dreams”.  Make the greatest memory of accepting Christ as your personal Savior today.
I pray that you will find treasures around your home that make you smile and bring special memories to you. Always enjoy soaking up The Son. He has so much to share with you.
