be still sunset
Slow ride…take it easy. No, I’m not talking about the song. I’m thinking about life.
This is a lesson that I have learned and continue to learn.
I look around the sphere I’m in, and observe the people hustling and bustling through life, “they” make me want to just breathe for them. Whew.
There is this home we rent at the beach that has a sign nailed to a palm tree. When my youngest first saw it he replied, “Look mom. That’s your tree.” The sign humbly says, “Simplify”. Yes, this lesson, which I continuously learn, is evident in my life so much that my children see it. (Thank You, Jesus!)
I’ve preached it to them and mentioned how “busy” I used to be in life, and how you must learn to prioritize. Numerous times I’ve laid it all out to Jesus and prayed, “Lord, you know what ‘I’ want to get done today, but I truly want what You desire for me to accomplish today. Please give the time needed to do Your will.” By golly, He gives me so much time in my day to check off “my” list of things to do, AND it almost always seems that He’s even given me extra time to relax. (Again…thank You, Jesus!)
Friend, can I testify to you that ever since I broke my leg (last November), and definitely had to “Be Still”, my life has simplified even more than before. My pace is a bit slower, but all the task STILL get done. My heartrate seems to be even more chill than it was before. Yes, it may take a little longer to accomplish a task, but it gets done and I am a happier person.
“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest.” Matthew 11:28-29
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10
“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” Psalm 62:5
So, as my friend says, “Slow your roll”, and take it easy.  Life is short.  Be happy.
Blessings to you. Love , Stephanie.
