Do you have those days when you feel like the devil is having a field day in your mind?
Questions run rampant in your mind like: Am I a good parent/friend/sibling/child/______? How can I be a better _________? Am I talented enough to do ____?
Boy, oh boy, I sure have those days.
This morning, while on my prayer walk, Satan kept trying to creep into my psyche and have me interrogate myself. “Back off, Satan! Not today, or any day!”
After my walk, a precious friend sent me a text. It included a daily devotion video, and the topic was prayer. She typed, “Love this! Thought of you my wonderful prayer warrior. Constantly pray. Spirit is willing, flesh is weak.”
I listened, soaked it all in, and replied to her how I needed that! I proceeded to elaborate on a specific prayer need that I have. She gave words of wisdom and said, “this morning I chose Faith as my mantra. Faith that God is in Total control.” AMEN! (Thank you, Sandra! Thank you for being an inspiration to me. You are an unselfish, giving, and a busy lady, yet you took time to think of me. Love you!)
Then…Y’all, if you could have seen me driving down the road this morning, after been giving great advice from a sweet friend, you would have seen my head swaying from side-to-side to the rhythm of the song, my hands drumming the steering wheel as if I’m performing, heard me singing out loud, and even witness me get gratefully emotional while listening to the song.
What song?
Well, I’m glad you asked.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
He said to then, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Lyrics to “I have to believe” by Rita Springer:
I have to believe
That He sees my darkness
I have to believe
He knows my pain
I have to lift up
My hands to worship
Worship His name
I have to declare
That He is my refuge
I have to deny
That I am alone
I have to lift up
My eyes to the mountain
It’s where my help comes from
Oh yeah
He said that He’s forever faithful
He said that He’s forever true
He said that He can move mountains
If He can move mountains
He can move my mountain
He can move your mountain, too
Oh, I have to stand tall
When the wind blows me over
I have to stand strong
When I’m weak and afraid
I have to grab hold
Ahold of the garments
The garments of praise
I know, I know, I know
Cause He said that He’s forever faithful
And He said that He’s forever true
He said that He can move mountains
If He can move mountains
He can move my mountain
He can move your mountain, too
I have to sing praise
When the hour is midnight
He unlocks these chains
That bind up my soul
My sin and my shame
He has forgiven and made me whole
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Cause He said that He’s forever faithful
And He said that He’s forever true
He said that He can move mountains
He said that He can move mountains
He said that He can move mountains
If He can move mountains
He can move my mountain
He can move your mountain, too
I have to believe
I have to believe
He’s got everything under control
I have to believe
Lord, I believe
Help my unbelief
I have to believe in You
I have to believe
