Oh happy day!
This morning I had the privilege of babysitting my great niece, Hadleigh Belle.  Her sweet momma is working a little here and there, and I had no problem clearing my calendar for HB.  (BTW…if you need an esthetician, HB’s momma will give you a phenomenal facial!  Message me if you want an appointment.  I can hook you up.)
When I walked through the door, I had my bible study in hand just in case I had the opportunity to do some homework while Hadleigh was sleeping.  I laid my bible, study book, and readers on the kitchen counter, and…that’s where they remained the entire time!
Cuddling, playing, rocking, and strolling her outdoors…this precious child was at the top of my list. (Hey, God is always first…He knows I’m not with her often…He understands where my priorities were lying…being a great aunt. *smile…big smile*)
My intentions were to study while HB was sleeping.  I just couldn’t put her down.  Not because she insisted, but because I insisted on embracing her while she napped…for 53 minutes!
When Hadleigh’s momma informed me that she was on her way home, I said, “Noooooo”.  My time was brief, yet productive and refreshing.
I gathered my bible study paraphernalia and headed home.  Well…I did have to stop for a “drive-by-hug” from Hadleigh’s first cousin, my great nephew, Wesley, on the way out.  Love love love those babies.
We may have good intentions to multi-task, but sometimes God has us focus on one thing (or person) at a time.
And…doesn’t God speak to us through children?  Yes!  Yes, He does.  Loud and clear.  Seriously, how can you NOT believe in God when you are holding and admiring His beautiful creation.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.  James 1:17a

Children are a precious gift God gives us.  Cherish those babies.  Nurture them.  Guide them in God’s ways.  Encourage them.  Hold them.  Be godly examples for them.  Teach them.  Love them!
I want to encourage you to always keep your focus on God, and embrace those precious moments He gives you to be a light to others.  I sure embraced little Miss Hadleigh Belle this morning.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
