Occasionally I accidently, yet pleasingly, walk through our bedroom, at just the right time to see Tim praying bedside on his knees. Melts my heart every time. I know good and well that our children are at the top of his prayer list.
That brings me to share today’s “Minute-Less/MORE Monday” with you. (Please click here to view.)
Praying daily for my family is a given. Sometimes it seems to be a 24/7 chat that God and I have with one another. Yet, there are those times when I take it (me) to another place. That place is to each child’s bedroom. (Here I am calling them children, even though they are all grown and taller than I am, and may not even be living in their rooms, but they will always be my kiddos, and children of God.)
There are times, during my prayer time, when I’m crying out…literally crying…to God for a specific child. There are moments when I take a deep breath and get overwhelmed because I am unable to utter the words from my mouth. It is during those times that I know that God knows what is on my heart without me saying a word. Other occasions I’m smiling from ear to ear counting the many blessings and joys God’s given to each kiddo. No matter how I may be feeling or what I may be saying during prayer time, God knows.
God knows my desire. He knows each child’s desire and situation. God knows.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. Romans 8:26
I challenge you to get on your knees (if you are physically capable) and pray. Take your requests to our Heavenly Father. When you pray, believe. Believe that God will answer.
“For this reason I kneel before the Father,” Ephesians 3:14
Here are three songs that were playing when I finished praying. Enjoy, and may they bring peace to you as they did to me:
Listen to “Take Courage” by Bethel Music. Click here. He IS in the waiting. Hold fast.
When We Pray by Tauren Wells. Strongholds start to break when we pray!
Lord, I need you by Matt Maher. “Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more” Amen! I know I NEED Him. How about you?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6
This is HARD, yet easy to do. It’s in my nature to worry, especially when it comes to my children, but we are instructed to NOT worry, but pray, give thanks, and give it all to God.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
