Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you will be blameless and pure, children of God without any fault. But you are living with evil people all around you, who have lost their sense of what is right. Among those people you shine like lights in a dark world, and you offer them the teaching that gives life. Philippians 2:14-16a (underline emphasis is mine)
While Tim and I were on our morning walk, I noticed this little beauty amongst all the muck and vines around it. I had to go back and capture it in a photo to remind me (and all y’all) to be the light in a dark world…to be the beauty amongst the muck of life…to stand tall and show glory to those around.
The ditch was full of stagnant water from a summer of downpours. There were overgrown weeds and grass surrounding this dainty yellow flower. Moss was dangling from the adjacent tree. Branches, which had been trimmed months before from the nearby oak, were entangled together and lying beside the flower that refused to be succumbed by the dreariness encompassing it.
But you are his chosen people, the King’s priests. You are a holy nation, people who belong to God. He chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He brought you out of the darkness of sin into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
I want to encourage you to shine like lights in a dark world, because He has brought you out of the darkness of sin and into His wonderful light. Don’t allow the mucks of life entangle you and entice you to join in. Be the magnificence that God created you to be.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
