It is finished!
Last week I asked you all to pray with me as my nephew was going through The Crucible. Well…he did as Galatians 6:9 instructed and DID NOT GIVE UP. Saturday morning, as Recruit Caleb Parker marched his final few hours with the waxing crescent moon over head, to the rising of the sun, he finished his task and is now officially Marine Caleb Parker.
His momma would send me detailed texts regarding each activity he was going through in the 54-hour rite of passage. I’d find myself waking almost hourly to pray for what he may be specifically going through at that moment. My sleepless night was nothing compared to the exhausting experience Caleb and his fellow recruits were going through.
Three words I’ve heard that Marine Caleb has describe his experience are emotional, thankful, and fun. Fun? LOL! Leave it up to Caleb.
I am beyond proud of our new Marine. He is the first in three generations to have this desire and become involved in the military.
This has been a dream of Caleb’s since he was a little boy. I can’t wait to see him after his graduation and give him a big hug and hear all about his time since he has been away.
There have been many obstacles that Caleb has had to overcome following his initial enrollment. Yet…overcome he did! With God by his side and in his heart, Caleb became a platoon leader and a bible study leader while he was in training. (Get ready for an “aunt-of-a-Marine” interview when I do see him. Stay tuned.)
God bless America, and God bless Marine Caleb Joshua Parker. (Yes, with a name like that how can you not become a leader and overcomer?!)
Thank you all for your prayers.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie (aunt-of-a-Marine)

This is Marine Parker’s Eagle Globe and Anchor pin he received at the end of The Crucible.
When I first saw this photo I thought, “Just as Caleb is holding his pin in the palm of his hand, it is symbolic of God holding him in the palm of His hand through it all. Amen! Glory!
