Wise Saying #4
Don’t cheat your neighbor by moving the ancient boundary markers set up by previous generations.  Proverbs 22:28 NLT
When I read this verse, my thoughts went to The Ten Commandments.  Specifically, “You shall not steal.” Exodus 20:15 NIV.
Would I like to expand our property line and have my neighbors thirty acres? Absolutely, but there would be a process to acquire the land.  Stealing isn’t an option. Moving the fence line would be ridiculous. That’s just stealing! And…I’m sure there would be some friction (okay, a lot of confrontation) between us.  No thank you. God would not be pleased with my selfish gain and the way I went about obtaining the property.
In Romans 12:17 NLT we read, “Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.” (Emphasis mine.)
Be a person of integrity, live honorably, and treat others fairly.
This actually coincides with my bible verse from my morning reading:
“Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.” Proverbs 21:21
The Message Translation goes perfectly with the photo above of my son, Hunter (yes, appropriately named. LOL):
Whoever goes hunting for what is right and kind finds life itself— glorious life!
I pray you have an honorable-filled day.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
