But the fruit that the Spirit produces in a person’s life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these kinds of things.
Galatians 5:22-23

I’ve done a bible study on these, written about the fruit of the spirit, read these characteristics numerous times, yet when I often try to recall all nine from memory I often come up with just seven.  This morning when I saw this was my scripture for the day I got a little giddy. Giddy because these verses are so familiar. Giddy because these are characteristics I strive for daily. Giddy because I was determined to memorize ALL nine again.
So I did.  I’d practiced saying them in my mind, out loud to myself, then when Tim joined me I’d say them to him.  Then…God tested me.
Last weekend I JUST purchased this soft-to-touch plaid shirt.  I had commented on how I love the feel of this shirt, and then…with the first connection of the iron (where we are staying) to the shirt…it burned my shirt and melted the material on the collar. The word that came out was “shi-ugar!” Then I quickly repeated the fruit list…love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…and said, “You’ve got me.”
Yesterday Tim and Cole played a round of golf at Burnt Pine Golf course in Miramar, FL.  They both commented how the greens were challenging, and Cole added that they were fun though. When I see the photo above of Cole teeing off on the 16th hole, I couldn’t help but imagine how much patience and self-control the game of golf takes.
I challenge you to think about the fruit God has produced in you, through various activities throughout your day, and strive to bring them fruition.
Say these characteristics throughout the day, week, etc., and desire to emulate in your life.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
