Motivational Monday: Reign on me.
Okay, so I got busy volunteering at the festival and “Motivational Monday” is coming to you on a Wednesday. Still…God reigns, and prayers are important:
Before I type what I was originally going to start with, I must say that when I read Psalm 93:1-5, it took my breath away. You see, I was going to only include verse one in this journal entry regarding “God reigns”, yet when I read the entire chapter (which consist of five verses), it was as if God solidified the fusion of the two topics discussed in the video.
The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure. Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. The seas have lifted up, LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea- the LORD on high is mighty. Your statutes, LORD, stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days.
Y’all, storms/tornadoes roar and are powerful, yet through it all…God rules. The devastation in Alabama breaks my heart. Even as I type this they are still searching for people. Twenty-three precious folks are confirmed as dead. I heard this morning that ten members from one family are amongst the 23. My prayers go up and out to the family, friends, and communities of all those affected by the horrific storm. Please join me in praying for them. Live each day full of love and forgiveness. Hold on to those you love and be kind to others. Strive to live each day emulating Jesus Christ.

On Monday the streets were filled with parade watchers as we cheered on participating friends and family, caught beads and candy, was handed toothbrushes and jar grippers, and even received water bottles sharing the good news of The Living Water and threaded bracelets that told the story of Christ. (I LOVE my town!) Even with the excitement of a parade marching passed, the thrill for me was having my great niece and nephew and family members sitting beside me. (Top photo is our crew.) Since they were both born in February of last year, this was Hadleigh and Wes’s first festival parade. LOVE! Observing life through a child’s eyes is awakening.
The days leading up to the parade was questionable regarding the weather. Rain was predicted to occur during the parade time. As each previous day past, the weather would change. Prayers were being said for our town’s celebration parade. This annual event brings families and friends together, and schools to be closed for the day. The last rain fell in the early morning, allowing plenty of time for chairs to be placed along the roadside, and the parade to take place with plenty of sunshine overhead.
The rain ceased for our parade, yet God’s reign never ceases, it is eternal!!
Blessings you and yours,
Stephanie
