Yes! Easter is right around the corner. That means colorful eggs, bunnies, pretty new dresses and maybe even a hat, and…mmmm…candy…especially Robin Eggs! By the way, when I went to pour those candies into the jar, they just wouldn’t all fit. Fiddlesticks. I guess three had to be sacrificed…in my tummy!
But wait…does Easter mean more?
Oh, yes!
This IS THE GREATEST HOLIDAY FOR CHRISTIANS!
Now, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas time. Oh what fun it is! Peace, love, and joy abounds. Yet Christmas is only the beginning. Easter is the hippity-hoppity-get-your-hands-in-the-air time of year. Why? Because HE HAS RISEN!
My morning scripture read came from Romans 5:6-8. It reads:
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
While we were still sinners! Friend, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done, where you’ve been, how you look, what condition you are even in at this moment, God loves you so much and wants you JUST AS YOU ARE.
If you don’t have personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, I pray that you will surrender your life to Him now.
Okay, so that’s not even the whole story. Sure, God sent us His Son, He suffered an unbelievable amount for you and me, and He died for us ALL, but…what Easter is about in conclusion is…HE HAS RISEN!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Just as many sit around and read Luke 2 about the story of Jesus birth during Christmas, I want to encourage you to read Luke 23 and 24 about the Crucifixion, Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Read it today. Reread it in another translation another day. Reread it over and over and allow this amazing truth marinate into your soul. Allow it to transform you. You have about a week until we celebrate according to the calendar year. Authorize this message to renew the way you think and live out your life. Be grateful! Generous! Kind and compassionate! Live for Christ and Christ alone.
Go ahead and have some Robin Eggs in the process, but ahhhh celebrate that HE HAS RISEN!
I pray that just as the candy jar overflowed, may your love and light for God overflow through you.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
