I couldn’t wait to get back and tell you this! Well, actually, Tim was first, but…
It was a Happy Mother’s Day walk for sure!
When I woke up this morning, I thought the perfect way to start my day was with Jesus and a walk on the beach. So I did…and He was there. Yet, He wasn’t the only one there.
While walking, I called my momma to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day. Her voice was cheerful and full of love. My father-in-love called me to wish me a happy day. He said how grateful he was for me and for blessing him with three of his grandchildren. Then…I was about to turn around and head home, but I felt God nudge me forwarded and whispered, “Go just a little further.” So I did. My steps carried me another hundred yards. I was admiring the view of the houses dotting the shore, listening to the gentle waves come upon the beach, and thinking about my precious family. At just the right time, I looked down and saw a petite pink rose lying in the sand. I stopped, thought how strange it was to see a real pink rose on the beach, and began to cry. You see, my late mother-in-love’s favorite flower was the pink rose. I didn’t even fight to hold the tears back. They just streamed down my face as I was so grateful for the nearly thirty years I had Jany in my life, before she went to spend eternity with Jesus. I looked to see where it came from and you can tell that someone had tossed a bouquet into the water the night before. Another pink rose wasn’t far. Two pink roses! Two…one for each of her boys (Tim and Todd). Jany was saying “Happy Mother’s Day from Heaven.” Count. My. Blessings!
On my way home, I took a deep breath and said out loud, with a grateful heart, “thank You, Jesus.” Just then, a flock of about forty birds flew by, off into the distance, and the word “freedom” instantly came to mind.
Y’all, God is so good! Keep your eyes on Him and He will reveal precious moments and remembrances to you as well. He is full of love, graciousness, and freedom.
I pray you have a blessed Mother’s Day.
And, yes, I told Tim about my heavenly Mother’s Day encounter, and I wasn’t the only one in tears.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
