Now what? Life has its ups and downs. When situations happen to you, how are you going to react?
I sure hope you enjoy this video. There are some good words and encouragement right here:
“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15
Don’t be grieved nor angry with yourselves, because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life…So now it was not you who sent me here, but God.” Genesis 45:5, 8
Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119:165
Do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26-27
…pray for those who spitefully use you.” Matthew 5:44
Our reactions are not determined by what happens to us on the outside; they are determined by the one who is in control on the inside. If SELF is in control, we will react according to SELF; if Christ is in control, we will react according to His life. As God’s children, we do not have the liberty to react as we please. Our reactions must be under Christ’s control. God has given Christians definite commands as to how they are to react. (http://ubdavid.org/advanced/practical/practical-christian17.html )
God’s Word says, “See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good…” 1 Thessalonians 5:15
Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps…Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously.” 1 Peter 2:21-23
So…are you going to choose to react selfishly or with a Joseph-like attitude? I pray you allow the Holy Spirit to “shut you up” and let God’s love and light shine through you.
(Thank you, Kelvin and Morgan, for allowing me to use this AWESOME photo of your little one for today’s entry! This needs to be on a card.)
Blessings to you and yours,
