Chasing rainbows…pursuing illusionary goals, trying to achieve impossible things. Or some (from the urban dictionary) defined chasing rainbows as “tripping or hallucinating on shrooms not limiting oneself from bring all outside reaching for things not there.
On December 23, 2019 I was driving home, looked up, and saw a beautiful and brilliantly colored rainbow.  It was a complete rainbow, and both ends of it was within my view. Wait…there wasn’t just one rainbow, but two. I was so excited! My daughter was with me, and I told her to her to video the rainbow touching the ground.  One end was between our home and my neighbor’s home. I called my neighbor, Wendy, and enthusiastically told her to go outside and look. We were both filled with excitement. The other end of the rainbow was in a pasture across the road from our home.  Driving in awe, and trying to get a closer look, the rainbow was moving faster than I was driving. By the time we parked the car, it was clearly just on the edge of our pond. I ran, with video mode ready, to capture the rapidly paced rainbow’s end. To no avail, I wasn’t able to touch or capture the end of the rainbow. I’m just
It was a beautiful sight, and I started repeatedly chanting “I’m chasing rainbows”.  If you were to get a glance at me, you probably thought I was “tripping”.
This scene made me think about how we are to pursue our dreams and God’s will for our lives.  Unlike my failure to actually catch the end of the rainbow, with God all things are possible. You can succeed in reaching dreams…with God.
The enthusiasm that was displayed when we had that beautiful vision in front of us, is exactly how we should be.  This passion/joy/devotion shouldn’t just happen when we are given a glimpse of what God has planned for us, but our daily walk with Christ.  Hey, He woke you up today for a purpose. Make every second count.
Just like I called my neighbor, we should desire to share God’s love with others.  Spread the joy of God’s grace and love to those around you.
Life is short, live with a purpose…the purpose of pursuing Christ and his plans for you.
Enjoy chasing your dreams. There may not be a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but with God…great treasures await.  Get busy following your dreams.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie

This was the best we could capture of end. We may not have the best photo on print, but in our minds the vision is still brilliant.

I was searching for bible verses to go with chasing your dreams, and this site is one that appeared.  Good stuff. https://www.godtube.com/news/7-biblical-reasons-to-chase-your-dreams.html
