Day 3 of 2020

Genesis 5:1-7:24

*We are all related.  No matter the race, or any other differences we have…we are all descendants of Adam and Eve. Hello, my brothers and sisters.

*People lived a long long LONG time.  How?  Checkout these websites to jump start the answering to this question:

*God cracks me up.  I know I often get “tired” of some people, sorry not sorry, but I’m not alone.  In Genesis 6:3, when God said, “My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time” I had to laugh.  Hey, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

*It breaks my heart to read, “It broke his heart.” This was in verse 6, and was referring to God when He observed humans’ consistent and total evil way of living. Oh, I wonder how we make Him feel now?  I pray to have a heart that breaks for what His breaks for.

*Noah was the ONLY righteous person on earth. Wow! It says that Noah walked in close fellowship with God.  I pray that we will strive to do the same.

*Reading chapters 6 and 7 make me want to go see the Ark exhibit.

*God provided.  God commanded.  Noah listened and obeyed.

Matthew 3:7-4:11

*Twice, in verses 8-11, John the Baptist says to “turn to God”.  When we become a follower of Christ, can people tell by, as it reads in verse 8, “the way we live” that we are Christians? We must completely turn to God, not just glance his way, but wholeheartedly turn and even run to Him.  People have a tendency to “turn to” others, alcohol, drugs, gambling, overeating, work, _____________ (you fill in the blank).  Let me repeat the words…turn to God. Period.

*Jesus was tempted by Satan for provision, protection, and power. As I just typed those three words I guess Satan didn’t realize (or, actually, I’m sure he did, but wanted to see how strong Jesus truly was) that Jesus is The Provider, The Protector, and The Almighty Power Himself. God wins. Stick with Him. He will provide, protect, and give you the power you need to withstand anything in life.  Again…turn to God.

Psalm 3

*David, the author of this Psalm, knew what we just read in Matthew…God is The Provider, The Protector, and The Almighty Power.

Proverbs 1:10-19

*Well, I’ll be…these verses continue the theme of turning to God.  Right away, in verse 10, it says, “My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!”  Allow me to say this again, and let’s remember these words as we make our choices throughout the day, Turn to God.

Once again, thank you for joining me in my journaling.  I hope that you are being encouraged to join me in reading the Bible through the year.  I’m by no means a theologian.  I’m just a Jesus loving girl who strives to seek and know more about Him daily.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
