Lord, you give me all that I need. You support me. You give me my share. My share is wonderful. My inheritance is very beautiful. Psalm 16:5-6 ERV
First of all, I’m praying for folks in Louisiana as they wake to observe what Hurricane Laura has brought their way and the damage she left behind (and still occurring), as the dawn of a new day begins.  The Weather Channel reported that Laura is the most intense hurricane to hit Louisiana in 164 years. Being a Florida girl, I’ve experienced my share of hurricanes, but never on the coast as the storm tips onto land.
Right now the people in Laura’s path need to remember those words in the ERV of Psalm 16:5, “Lord, YOU give me all that I need.  YOU support me.”  (Emphasis mine).  Like the word shared in yesterday posting, borrowed from Dr. Tony Evans, about how God is our source, and others are a resource.  God is their source through the storm, and knowing how the community comes together before/during/after tragedy, there will be many resources to assistance during this season.
Maybe you need to remember that yourself.  Whatever storm you are going through; mental, physical, relationally, work or school related, etc., the Lord will support you.
Bullet point #3 from the video-blog, “Encouragement for true joy and living”:

  • The Lord DOES give you all you need.  Maybe not all you want, but your needs are satisfied, and when you want and need Jesus, you’ll discover that He is all you desire.

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.  Psalm 16:5-6 NIV

My choice is you, God, first and only. And now I find I’m your choice! You set me up with a house and yard. And then you made me your heir!  Psalm 16:5 MSG

Life is a school.  You are learning new things each and every day.  The Christian life is a school too.  When you read the word of God, and keep your eyes and heart open to the daily life experiences, He has a way of teaching you a few things.  Saying that, I have learned in life that when I put God first, when I love the Lord with all my heart, and when I seek FIRST the kingdom of God, many responses occur.  Examples for me are

  • My day goes better because I have my focus on Him, and know that no matter what storm may come my way, He brings me peace and comfort.
  • Speaking of storms…I can weather any storm because of my faith and hope is anchored in Jesus Christ.
  • My perspective is more positive and pleasant.
  • I feel joy. Others notice that joy.  It’s a great testimony.

Jesus answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and most important command.  Matthew 22:37-38 ERV

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  Matthew 6:33 NASB

Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:4 NASB

I pray that you will wake each day and seek God first.  Keep God first. Allow God to change your perspective and use what I call “God goggles”.  Stay in His school of life and learn from the Bible daily.  Trust that He is all you need, and will supply all your needs.
Blessings to you and yours.
