Motivational Monday:
This past Sunday my pastor, Dr. Brian Stowe, preached a wonderful sermon from Titus 1:10-16.  When I read the words from verses 15 and 16, it made me ponder on what my words and actions say about me.

To people who are pure, everything is pure. But to those who are full of sin and don’t believe, nothing is pure. Really, their thinking has become evil and their consciences have been ruined. They say they know God, but the evil things they do show that they don’t accept him. They are disgusting. They refuse to obey God and are not capable of doing anything good.  Titus 1:15-16 ERV

Then, I read the commentary in my Life Applications Study Bible.  Regarding these two verses it reads:

Whatever you choose to fill your mind with will affect the way you think and act.  Turn your thoughts to God and His Word, and you will discover more and more goodness, even in this evil world.  A mind filled with good has little room for what is evil.  Many people claim to know God. How can we know if they really do?  We will not know for certain in this life, but a glance at their lifestyles will quickly tell us what they value and whether they have ordered their lives around Kingdom priorities.  Our conduct speaks volumes about what we believe (see 1 John 2:4-6).  What do people know about God and about your faith by watching your life?

Do you practice what you preach?  Can people tell that you are a Christian by the way you conduct yourself?  Do others get a glimpse of Jesus when they observe you?  Remember…you just may be the only bible some people read.  Represent Christ well.

If we obey what God has told us to do, then we are sure that we know him. If we say we know God but do not obey his commands, we are lying. The truth is not in us. But when we obey God’s teaching, his love is truly working in us. This is how we know that we are living in him. If we say we live in God, we must live the way Jesus lived.  1 John 2:3-6 ERV

Imitating Christ is what we are called to do.  Click here for more journal entries on “Imitating God”.  There are actually fifteen entries.  I reread each one of them, and was encouraged.  God speaking to me and through me..His words, not mine.  I’m just a tool.
I pray that you will reflect on what your words and actions say about your walk with Christ.  Ask God to search your heart and make known anything that you need to change and make right with Him.  Desire for your life to be a reflection of Jesus Christ, so that others may come to know Him a little bit more through you.
Have a beautiful day of reflection and reflecting Christ.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
