“If everyone got just one”…
This journal entry is inspired by my man, Tim.
This summer we have been intentional.  Intentional with taking care of the seas.
We’ve all done it, whether accidentally or not, we’ve all littered at some point in our lives.
The past few months, our family has spent a lot of time in our boat. (Shocker, I’m sure.)  More often than you’d want to observe, there is some sort of trash floating on top of the water.  I believe we’ve already snagged four balloons from the water, along with a plethora of plastics, a hat, and other debris.
The good Lord gave us this land and waters to take care of.
Then God said, “Now let’s make humans who will be like us. They will rule over all the fish in the sea and the birds in the air. They will rule over all the large animals and all the little things that crawl on the earth.”  Genesis 1:26 ERV
The earth and everything on it belong to the Lord. The world and all its people belong to him.  Psalm 24:1 ERV
The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.  Genesis 2:15 NLT
The godly care for their animals, but the wicked are always cruel.  Proverbs 12:10 NLT
The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. Psalm 95:5 NLT
Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he is coming! He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with his truth.  Psalm 96:11-13 NLT
As you can see, God created the world and everything in it.  He created us to take care of His creation.  We all, and everything in the earth, belong to God.  We will be judged by Him in all our endeavors.
So…just like the balloon reads, “It’s your day”…It’s your day to be intentional and collect even just one piece of trash from our good earth…that would be godly.  Maybe someone else will see you pick it up and it will motivate them to do the same, or to be careful as to what happens with their trash.  If they, or you don’t, it’s on them (you).  God is watching.  Do the right thing.
So do like Tim says and “If everyone got just one piece of trash from a trip, that’s helping.”
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
