This morning I read Psalm 143:10, Teach me to do Your will, for you are my God. May Your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing (NLT). I had a peaceful and confident feeling that can only come from God. I felt the Lord saying, “Yes, my child, take my hand and walk with Me.”
During this season of David’s life, he was in the midst of hopelessness and depression. He was being chased by his enemies. David was spiritually and emotionally spent.  Have you ever felt this way? Have you been in such desperation that you didn’t know what to do or where to turn?
I’m quite sure that over the past couple of years there have been many who have felt the same feelings as David. Their emotional and spiritual state were drained or numb.
Friend, if this describes you or someone you know, read Psalm 143 in its entirety and learn from David. Here’s what he did throughout these twelve verses:

  • Remember
  • Talk about/say out loud
  • Praise Him
  • Wait
  • Ask
  • Trust
  • Put your life in His hands!
  • Run to God
  • Live so that others will praise the Lord

Maybe you need to take a step back and take a deep breath. Remember all the glorious things God has done in your life. Say aloud the beauty of God’s creation. Praise Him for seeing you through every storm and for holding you up. Wait on the Lord to make known what in the world is going on in your life. Even if you never find out in this lifetime, wait on Him because his timing is perfect. Ask God questions. Continue to wait. I know it’s hard, but trust in Him.  Run to the Lord because He will protect you. Be the best student in God’s classroom and soak up all His teachings. During this time of emptiness, be filled with God’s love and rest in Him. He will preserve your life. Stand firm in knowing that you live for Him!
Are you ready to take His hand and walk with the Lord in life? He has His hand extended out ready for you to grab and go.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie

Lord, hear my prayer. Listen to my call for help and answer my prayer. Show me how good and loyal you are. Don’t judge me, your servant. No one alive could be judged innocent by your standards. My enemies are chasing me. They have crushed me into the dirt. They are pushing me into the dark grave, like people who died long ago. I am ready to give up. I am losing my courage. But I remember what happened long ago. I am thinking about all you have done. I am talking about what you made with your hands! I lift my hands in prayer to you. I am waiting for your help, like a dry land waiting for rain. Selah Hurry and answer me, Lord! I have lost my courage. Don’t turn away from me. Don’t let me die and become like the people lying in the grave. Show me your faithful love this morning. I trust in you. Show me what I should do. I put my life in your hands! Lord, I come to you for protection. Save me from my enemies. Show me what you want me to do. You are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me over level ground. Lord, let me live so that people will praise your name. Show me how good you are and save me from my trouble. Show me your love and defeat my enemies. Destroy those who are trying to kill me because I am your servant. Psalm 143:1-12 ERV
