I remember…
I remember where I was when I received a call to turn on the news.
I remember who was with me at that moment.
I remember my thoughts as I was watching the devastation of one plane hitting, then seeing live footage of the second plane crash into the south tower.
I remember wanting to hold my family.
I remember our nation crying out to God and filling the churches while searching for answers, peace, strength.
I remember observing the strength of our nation rally together to take care of one another.
I remember seeing determination on faces as our forces rallied together to defend our great nation.
There are so many of “I remembers” I could list, and each of you could add your own “I remember”.  Although our remembers will vary, our NEVER FORGET will be the same.
My cousin Traci reposted these details recently on social media:

20 years ago tonight,

246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights.

2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow.

343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.

60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol.

8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives.

….None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001…..

In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. God bless💙❤️🇺🇸

(Copied and pasted)

This morning Tim and I went for a short walk on the beach. It was almost deserted. So peaceful. Wearing my red, white, and blue, and never forgetting what happened on this day twenty years ago, I mentioned “this time twenty years ago there were many people starting their day peacefully not knowing the events about to occur or the phone call that some were about to receive.”  Tim said “There were many about to receive phone calls.” Or maybe not.  Maybe someone saw the news and was waiting and waiting for a call they never received, letting them know that their loved one was okay. I was fighting back the tears at the thought of that horrific and evil day.
I agree with the paragraph someone wrote in the above shared post.

Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. James 4:14

Please don’t forget to cherish each day, love big, and say “I love you”.

Teach us how short our lives are so that we can become wise. Psalm 90:12

Please don’t forget to forgive, get right with God, and serve others.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Romans 12:15

Please don’t forget to be empathetic, give hugs, listen to and learn from others.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

Please remember to don’t quit in hard times and pray all the harder.
Our hearts and prayers go out to ALL who were affected directly by the wickedness of 9/11/2001. May America never forget and always strive to be stronger, turn from our own bad ways, and turn to Jesus.
I remember…to NEVER FORGET 9/11
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
