Can you imagine not gathering with your family or friends or church group? Wait! Of course you can. We just survived a world pandemic where many restrictions were put on all. So…sure…imagining not getting together with others is very fresh in your mind. You may even have some feelings or thoughts that go along with the absence of gathering. You may have even created a few new habits since 2020…some quite good for you, and others not so healthy…like gathering together with others.
Watching church or your small group online or zoom became the norm. Once restrictions were lifted, it may have become a convenient ritual. Staying in your pajamas with a hot cup of coffee or tea on Sunday mornings, just may be the norm for you now.
Oh, but friend, I want to encourage you to snap out of the mentality of lazy electronic gatherings, and truly enjoy some koinonia.
Koinonia? That is a word I have heard all my life that describes a deep and intimate fellowship with other believers.
Sitting in a small group/Sunday school class or attending a class fellowship is enlightening. You get to know a few things about others you may not be familiar with, you discover that you are not alone in certain situations, and you gain a deeper appreciation for praying for others and seeing results.
I pray that you will get back or get into a bible preaching and believing church and find a small group to get involved with. Warning…you just may find commonalities in others and enjoy some koinonia. I know I sure appreciate and enjoy mine..
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another —and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25 NIV
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. Romans 15:2 NLT
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Romans 12:10 NLT
Blessings to you and yours,
