What is/are your hobby/hobbies?
You just may be surprised by one of mine.
According to the online dictionary, a hobby is an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation.
I do have a few hobbies that are quite relaxing, but if the definition extended to include “something you do regularly”, I’ve got the answer…Vacuuming.
It seems that it is a daily thing. Having an inside dog, and being allergic to dog dander, prompts me to grab my vacuum and have it engulf dander constantly.
One may question that it is a hobby for me, but this activity really does bring pleasure and relaxation to me. Why? Because, for one, I actually do have a variety of deep thoughts and ideas come to mind while methodically moving the machine back and forth, making sure every particle is getting sucked up, and secondly, when my home is clean and dander free, I can then relax. Is anyone out there with me?
Okay, so what was my deep thought today while participating in my hobby? The dust, crumbs, dander, etc. on the floor was like the sin in our lives. Jesus Christ was the vacuum and took it all away. He took what was dirty and disgusting, and made it clean and beautiful.
I must say THANK YOU, JESUS!
He saved us because of His mercy, not because of any good things we did. He saved us through the washing that made us new people. He saved us by making us new through the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5 ERV
Jesus can make you clean for ALL the wrong things you have done.
But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done. 1 John 1:9
I pray that you will be transformed by the “sucking up” that God does, and Jesus Christ did for you.
You can be made clean and beautiful through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
