Let’s explore a little. Let’s explore what you desire.
Our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. Isaiah 26:8b-9a
Yes!! Amen and amen!
When I read these words in the bible, I about jumped out of my seat and did a little dance. This…THIS is how I strive to live my life. I read these words out loud to Timm, and he smiled in agreement.
People often ask me “Stephanie, why are you always so happy?” Y’all, it’s because I have Jesus! Jesus fills my life with joy, even in those times of trouble.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
One of my go-to verses is “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4. After years of hearing this verse and studying God’s word, I discovered that HE is the desire of my heart. Now let’s tie that in with the verse from Isaiah…my daily desire (Jesus) is to bring glory to His name. When I wake, I seek God before I seek the face of man. Even before I look into my man’s eyes or see his face, I read a bible verse or dive into prayer…a conversation with my precious Lord. This habit starts my day off right and keeps my focus on The Main Thing.
God and I talk throughout the day. He may not talk back, at least audibly, but He does show me His whispers through various circumstances or songs or words from others or nature or a shady spot on a hot day or…you get it. Keep your eyes and ears open for those God whispers.
From starting my day with God, to grabbing His hand to walk with Him throughout the day, to falling asleep in conversation with Him at night, HE is my desire.
Why am I so happy? Friend, I’m filled with joy!
What is my desire? To bring glory and honor to Him.
I want to encourage you to delight yourself in the Lord. I pray that you will wake each morning desiring to know Him more. Explore His word and grow closer to Christ. Let God be your inhale and exhale.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
