There is a vague glow beginning to gleam through the bamboo shades. My head barely lifts from the satin covered pillow, when I reach for the phone to tap on the app. Even though my mind is not entirely awake, I’m eager to see what the Lord has breathed onto pages to start my day. As I read the verse-for-the-day, a peace washes over me and my thoughts turn to gratitude for the words read. The scripture turns into a prayer. The prayer may last a moment, or it sometimes lingers on until my eyes are closed and resting again. Ahhh, falling back asleep while talking to my Jesus. Resting in Him is so comforting.
I want to encourage you read the bible, a verse or two or a chapter, and allow the words to sink into your marrow. Turn them into a prayer and rest in Him. Believe what His word says. It is truth! Trust in Him.
