There are instruction manuals for products we purchase. When we follow the directions, there is a better chance of that product lasting longer and performing better at doing the task it was intended to do.

Did you know that there is an instruction manual on how we are to live our lives? It’s called the bible.

So…How are we supposed to live our life? Let’s take a quick look at Titus 2:11-14:

11For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. 14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

When I read these words this morning, I wrote them down, highlighted, circled, underlined, and boxed a few words. Here are some key takeaways for me:

  • Jesus’s birth, death, and resurrection was the grace of God. What a gift!
  • Jesus brought salvation to ALL people. It’s not up to me to pick and choose who should go to heaven. God sent His Son for ALL. Be kind and do what is right in His sight.
  • We are to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures.
  • This world is evil. (no shock), and while we are living in this world, we are to live with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God.  In other words, live with insight and sensitivity, integrity and character, adoration, love, and a longing for God.
  • Look forward with hope. For those who have put their trust in Jesus Christ, this place is not our forever home. Hallelujah!
  • That hope is for the return and revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • Whew…God sent His Son to free us, cleanse us, and make us His. What a sense of belonging!

These verses bring peace and comfort to my being. We are to look forward and with hope each day in life. This assured hope calms anxiety, rejuvenates life from the inside, keeps me sane, puts a sparkle in my eye and joy in my heart.

I pray that these verses will motivated you on how to live. Follow His directions and you’ll find yourself performing better in life as well, and how God intended.

Be alive in 2025. Each day is a gift.

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie
