“How hard it is to find the perfect wife. She is worth far more than jewels.” Proverbs 31:10
This morning’s verse moved me to pray—for my single friends, those who’ve been divorced or widowed, newlyweds, and those married for years. Relationships are hard. You were prayed for today. Stand firm in your faith and let Jesus be your foundation.
Am I the “perfect” wife? No. But I’m the perfect one for Tim, and that’s what matters. The Proverbs 31 woman is inspiring and intimidating—yes, I aim high and still fall short. What I do aim for is being the only one he has eyes for.
What makes a marriage work (a few of my favorite things):
- Pray together
- Keep God first
- Take trips together (short or long)
- Dance under the stars
- Sit and talk—really talk
- Cuddle and laugh together
- Cook together
- Dream together
- Enjoy and parent your children together
- Respect and be honest with one another
- Smile across a crowded room
- Hug often
- Honor time apart—miss each other
- Be intimate—emotionally and physically
- Text or call just because
- Say “I love you” and mean it
- Date one another regularly
- Watch sunrises and sunsets together
- Read God’s word together
- Forgive one another—life is short
- Laugh together
- Hold hands—in public and in front of your children
Marriage is work—keep your feet moving, whether you’re staying on your toes or dancing on his. Satan would love to come between a godly thing, so fight for it.
Parents, tell your daughter to be so in love with Jesus that any man must go through Him to get to her. Men, do the same. A man (or woman) of God knows how to love well.
No matter your relationship status: you are worthy. Believe it. Embrace it. You are loved—deeply.
Soak up The Son every day.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie

Tim, I’ve loved you a long time. Let’s keep holding on to one another.
