Do you want to live life to its fullest?
What does that even mean? I enquired others and here are their responses:
- Create a bucket list and get busy checking it off.
- Live each day as if it’s your last.
- Conquering your fears.
- Taking care of yourself and Living day to day.
- Being more spontaneous and open to what life has to offer.
- Love yourself, and make yourself and others laugh.
- Treat each day as a gift from God. As a gift, show your appreciation: be happy, give to others… Live EACH day.
- Travel when you can.
- To enjoy each and every day that I’m blessed with. Even the smallest of things and enjoy moments because once gone they’re gone.
- See the beauty & blessings in the simple things.
- Swimming naked in the ocean.
Yes, even swimming naked in the ocean. Funny, but let’s go with that…let’s “strip” it down to how to really live life to its fullest. Let’s discover how “freeing” living life can be.
I queried this question after reading Psalm 119:144, “The way You tell me to live is always right; help me understand it so I can live to the fullest.”
This little gem is tuck in the longest chapter in the bible with 176 total verses. In almost every verse they refer to God’s word and how His commands are full of joy, blessings, and wisdom. We all can find complete delight in life when we follow His ways. Not our ways, but His, is the key to living life to its fullest.
In verse 162 we read, “I rejoice in Your word like one who discovers a great treasure.” When we delve into the bible, we do find priceless treasures. I hope that you will treasure God’s word. Just like you’ve probably read or heard before “I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You.” And guess what chapter we find that jewel in… Psalm 119:11
When we follow God’s word we learn how to live with integrity, passion, joy, wisdom, love, and so much more. The lessons learned on living life to the fullest are not just when we think that our life is going smooth, but even in those tough times. We know there will be troubles in life, but when we are bathed in His word, we are equipped with how to handle those situations.
I want to encourage you to start your day off with God’s word. Let it become a habit like putting on your clothes (unless you’re swimming naked in the ocean. *wink wink* Oh my, then you better really pray it up to keep you safe). “Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.” Romans 13:14
After you’ve gotten you “God clothes” on, go ahead and:
- And…Swimming naked in the ocean.
Trust me, I do! I’ve lived life crazy, adventurous, big, lovingly, and simple…all while living extravagantly in the Lord. I’ve discovered that when my focus is on Christ, He allows me to see Him and live fully even while (or especially while) being daring…bungy jumping in New Zealand, gliding off a mountain in Brazil, jumping out of a plane in Florida, etc.
I pray many blessings and much JOY for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
Here are some more sweet nuggets from Psalm 119:
1Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. 2 Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. 3They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.
24 Your laws please me; they give me wise advice.
77 Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.
143Even though I have troubles and hard times, your commands give me joy. 144 Your rules are always right. Help me understand them so that I can live.
