Every time you turn on the radio or television, there is so much talk regarding COVID-19, the Delta variant, race, the teaching of systemic racism in schools, and on and on. Today, while driving down the road, I had it on a talk radio program. After about fifteen minutes, I was thinking, “I wish people would talk about Jesus this much!”
Immediately, another thought came about. It was like a whisper from God saying, “Look, doesn’t all these topics seem to be causing great division in our country? No, don’t talk about Jesus all the time, just be. Use the talent I gave you. You are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Not everyone can be the mouth.”
Whoa! So true! I don’t want people getting so tired of and divisive over talking about Christ that they turn away from Him or want nothing to do with Him. How tragic!
We each were given a special gift. Let those who teach and preach do so. Let those who give give. Let those who walk with others, or simply listen, or help others who may not be able to physically do or whatever…do what they need to do according to their gift.
Instead of always cramming Christ down the throats of those around us by telling them…show them.
A person has only one body, but it has many parts. Yes, there are many parts, but all those parts are still just one body. Christ is like that too. Some of us are Jews and some of us are not; some of us are slaves and some of us are free. But we were all baptized to become one body through one Spirit. And we were all given the one Spirit. And a person’s body has more than one part. It has many parts. The foot might say, “I am not a hand, so I don’t belong to the body.” But saying this would not stop the foot from being a part of the body. The ear might say, “I am not an eye, so I don’t belong to the body.” But saying this would not make the ear stop being a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, it would not be able to hear. If the whole body were an ear, it would not be able to smell anything. If each part of the body were the same part, there would be no body. But as it is, God put the parts in the body as he wanted them. He made a place for each one. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the foot, “I don’t need you!” No, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are actually very important. And the parts that we think are not worth very much are the parts we give the most care to. And we give special care to the parts of the body that we don’t want to show. The more beautiful parts don’t need this special care. But God put the body together and gave more honor to the parts that need it. God did this so that our body would not be divided. God wanted the different parts to care the same for each other. If one part of the body suffers, then all the other parts suffer with it. Or if one part is honored, then all the other parts share its honor. All of you together are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of that body. 1 Corinthians 12:12-18,21-27 ERV
Stop…did you see that? God did this so that our body would not be DIVIDED.
Yes, we are instructed to tell them Good News to everyone. Have you heard of actions speak louder than words?
He said to them, “Go everywhere in the world. Tell the Good News to everyone. Mark 16:15
The harvest is ready, y’all! Do your part.
When you plant, you always say, ‘Four more months to wait before we gather the grain.’ But I tell you, open your eyes, and look at the fields. They are ready for harvesting now. Even now, the people who harvest the crop are being paid. They are gathering crops for eternal life. So now the people who plant can be happy together with those who harvest. It is true when we say, ‘One person plants, but another person harvests the crop.’ John 4:35-37
Will you be the one to say “Yes, Lord, send me.”
Then I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Who can I send? Who will go for us?” So I said, “Here I am. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
I pray that you will seek Christ and His will for you. I pray that you will ask God to use you, put someone in front of you that you can be a “little Christ” (a Christian) for, and to give you the boldness to do your part.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
