Does your marriage get stale or the flame begin to lose its glow?  Marriage is work. I hope to encourage you to rekindle that fire and stay strong in your marriage.
Some encouragements:

  • Communicate.  Don’t just be the one talking, yet listen.  May your words be full of grace. When you do talk, watch the nagging. Speak in love.
  • Getaway.  Whether you spend time dancing under the stars, have a sweet meal with just the two of you, or take a mini-vacation for one night, one weekend, or a week.  Go! Get to know each other again. Rely on each other for the getaway time without others always around (kids, family, friends, etc.)
  • Build your relationship stronger with Christ.  When you get closer to God, great things can happen, especially when you do it together.  You can do devotional as a couple or on your own. Get on your knees and face in talk to God about everything!
  • Touch.  Hold hands, give (what Tim and I call) “not-sexual” hugs, and give sexual hugs (yep!).  Hold hands when you pray. Give massages. Enjoy exploring each other…like John Mayer sings, “your body is a wonderland”. (Wink*wink)
  • Pray.  Pray for each other.  Pray with each other. Pray together. Pray alone.  When you have an issue with one another, don’t just pray for the other person, but pray for you own attitude.  God is listening.

You don’t want to wake up one day, when the kids are gone, and look at each other and wonder “who are you?”.  Cultivate your marriage and relationship with one another now. Include God. He’s the glue that holds it all together.
I’m praying for you.

We stayed two nights at Anchorage 1770 Inn in Beaufort, SC.

Anastasia was our wonderful carriage tour guide, trough the historic streets of Beaufort.

Sometimes marriage can be like crashing waves on a dreary day.

And sometimes marriage is like a beautiful sunset you need to capture.

Marine Caleb had a lot of family support at his graduation. Way to go, Caleb!!!

On our drive down A1A, we stopped at the rustic Singleton’s Seafood Shack. I thought we might tip into the water, but if the food is good enough for Guy from Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, well…I guess it’s good enough for us. It was quite tasty.

Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
