This morning I went to retrieve our dog, Marley, from being boarded for the past five nights. She was so excited to go home.  She hopped in the car, scanned her surroundings, then plopped down out of either sure exhaustion or “thank the good Lord that momma came so I have have some peace and quiet now.”  Y’all, she even started snoring on our way home!
Once the car got closer to home, it was as if Marley could sense a familiarity and rose to look out the window.  When we pulled into the drive, Marley saw our bullmastiff, Layla, and began whining.  Ahhh…reunited and it feels so good.
Once we were indoors, she enthusiastically ran around, earned her treat, followed me to and fro, then settled into her bed to rest.
Are you this way after a vacation?  You had a blast, met new friends, probably some sensory overload, but once home…rest.  It’s like you need a vacation from the vacation.
No spiritual story here, just a thought. Oh, but there’s one that comes to mind:
In peace I will b oth lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
I do hope and pray that you will always find comfort, rest, and safety in the Lord.  He is always with you.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
