How can a young person live a pure life? By obeying your word. I try with all my heart to serve you. Help me obey your commands. I study your teachings very carefully so that I will not sin against you. Lord, you are worthy of praise! Teach me your laws. I will repeat the laws we have heard from you. I enjoy following your rules as much as others enjoy great riches. I will study your instructions. I will give thought to your way of life. I enjoy your laws. I will not forget your word. Psalm 119:9-16 ERV
These words from David don’t only apply to a young person, yet to us all.
Today, instead of a life lesson of my own to share with you, I’ll just let God’s words speak to you.
I just want to encourage you to read Psalm 119:9-16, ponder on your own walk in life with Christ, and pursue Him daily. No one is perfect, yet we all can strive to follow His ways. TRY. Simply try.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord; Teach me Your statutes. With my lips I have told of all the ordinances of Your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word. Psalm 119:9-16
How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. I’m single-minded in pursuit of you; don’t let me miss the road signs you’ve posted. I’ve banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won’t sin myself bankrupt. Be blessed, God; train me in your ways of wise living. I’ll transfer to my lips all the counsel that comes from your mouth; I delight far more in what you tell me about living than in gathering a pile of riches. I ponder every morsel of wisdom from you, I attentively watch how you’ve done it. I relish everything you’ve told me of life, I won’t forget a word of it. Psalm 119:9 MSG
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
(I love, love, LOVE my kiddos in the above photo. I’m so grateful that God loaned each of them to me and Tim. They are so different, yet so much alike. We are having a blast in Cabo San Lucas.)
