Washing our hands constantly causes dryness.  My hands thirst for some deep moisturizing. I lather them with lotion and can instantly feel healing and softness.   Beauty appears where there once was dryness.
This is how we need to be with our relationship with God now. Be still and get to really know God.

Here are my brief notes while researching:

DRY…WALKING THROUGH THE DRYNESS…APPRECIATION FOR GOD’S POWER…THIRST

DRY
Jeremiah 14-15

  • Mourning
  • Helpless
  • Confused
  • Desperate
  • Deeply troubled
  • Abandonment
  • Pants for thrifts
  • Seeking
  • Questioning God
  • Feeling like this season is due to our sins
  • More hard times to come
  • This all saddens God
  • Loss of hope
  • Repent.  Turn to God.  Live for Him. He will protect you.

Ezekiel
Hosea
Joel
Psalm 63

WALKING THROUGH THE DRYNESS
Exodus 14:  Walking through the dry ground of the Red Sea. God’s great glory will be displayed. Think about how powerful the wind blew to dry the sea-bed. Verse 22So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on each side!  God’s power was demonstrated.

THIRST
John 4:13-14, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again.  But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again.  It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
Isaiah 44:3, For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields.  And I will pour out my spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children.
Matthew 5:6 MSG, Great blessings belong to those who want to do right more than anything else.  God will fully satisfy them.
Psalm 107:9 For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

APPRECIATION FOR GOD’S POWER
The thought of dryness away from and lushness near The Nile River came to mind.  It was an unforgettable sight while cruising downtown the river.: Dry, thirsty desert surrounds it, but the closer you are to the water the more green and lush it becomes.

Psalm 107:33-38, Things become dry, but…He also turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into springs of water…How He blesses them!  Verse 43, Those who are wise will take all this to heart, they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord.

In the end, I want you to thirst for God more than anything during this time.  Yes, we want healing. Yes, we want prosperity. Yes, we desire for jobs, safety, and economic security.  Draw nearer to Him and He will draw nearer to you. Take this time to fill your life with more of Jesus. Do you have anything to confess?  Confess it to God. Repent. Turn from your selfish ways and turn to God. Exhale all negativity and inhale God’s greatness and the blessings He has for you.
Blessings to you and yours…will come!

While looking through my Egypt photos, the thought came to my mind how here I am writing about when the Israelites escaped Egypt…ironic.

You can tell from this photo how near the water it is green, but in the not so far distance you see brown, little vegetation, and dryness. Stay close to The Living Water.

A gentle reminder that even when you are in the driest of seasons…The Son still rises and sets within your heart each day. Embrace The Son during your dry season. Soak Him up.
