“Ohh How I Love Jesus…”
These words are often, if not daily, sung or hummed by me. My family knows that this is my go-to-song when I get annoyed or upset with one of them, but it is also for when I’m busy working or as happy as a pig in mud.
As I sit here today, the day before Easter…the BEST day for all…I ponder on how much Jesus really does love me.
In the renowned verse, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” explains WHY I love Jesus. Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb. He gave His life for you and me. Wow! (This is where I encourage you, implore you, to read Luke 19-24 to get the whole picture.)
Read these lyrics to “Oh How I Love Jesus” and allow the significance of His love sink in:
There is a name I love to hear
I love to sing its worth
It sounds like music in my ear
The sweetest name on earth
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Because He first loved me
It tells me of a Savior’s love
Who died and set me free
It tells me of His precious blood
The sinner’s perfect plea
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Because He first loved me
It tells of One whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe
Who in each sorrow bears a part
That none can bear below
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Because He first loved me
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Because He first loved me
His name is worthy of us singing about. The name of Jesus is the sweetest and most precious name on earth. Jesus gave His life for you and me, and I am eternally grateful.
His pain became my peace.
His crucifixion became my comfort.
His agony became my alleviation.
His love is exquisite.
His love is incomprehensible.
His love is extravagant.
So, if you hear me singing or humming the lyrics to this song, you never know how I truly am feeling, except you do know that I love Jesus and will divert all my emotions to The One who puts all things in perspective for me.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
I pray that you will have an extraordinary and reflective Easter.
OH HOW I LOVE JESUS!!
Do you?
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
