Don’t be fooled: “Bad friends will ruin good habits.” Come back to your right way of thinking and stop sinning. Some of you don’t know God. I say this to shame you.  1 Corinthians 15:33-34
Stop it!  Just stop it.
There are a plethora of bible verses that talk about being a fool, friendship, sinning (especially when you know better!), and how to live life.  I’d like to encourage you to stop doing the things that are wrong…that go against God…that don’t make Him smile…and start living for Christ.  His way is so much better for you. Trust me.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Bad company corrupts good character” or “You become the company you keep”.  Listen, it is so hard to have friends who are not walking in a relationship with Jesus, and for you (a Christian) to grow closer to Christ.  If you do find yourself in this situation, please stand firm.  Stand firm in your walk with Christ by getting into the word daily, not occasionally or when you’ve fallen into temptation, but D-A-I-L-Y.  You can not stand strong on your own.  It takes the Holy Spirit within you and a consistent daily walk with the Lord.
Fill your mind with scripture.  Do this by maybe a devotional book each morning or a chapter from a book in the Bible or hey…even scroll through the many journal entries on this site. Just keep pumping yourself with God’s word.
Find a Christian music station/outlet and really listen to o the words of the songs.  They are good, encouraging, and pure.  You may say, “but I like the way such-and-such artist sings”. Well, then I can probably guarantee you that there is a Christian singer or group who sounds like them with the same type of beat that you can find.  The words to a lot of secular songs out there are…UGH.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I listen to ALL types of music. I listen to country, classic rock, 70’s and

This is a screenshot of the Apple Music playlist I have. Seriously…listen!

80’s rock, top 40, jazz, etc.  Just about any genre, I’m on it.  Yet, I mainly focus on Christian music. I have a bad habit of getting into the rhythm of the song, and not listening to the words.  But when I do make myself listen…oh my!  There’s such trash out there nowadays.  My go to playlist is “Today’s Christian:  Apple Christian”.  Y’all! It is so good.  I have no idea who complies these songs together, but they update it each week.  I often share a song/video on the Soaking up The Son Facebook page. (I actually just posted one this morning. I may do a couple more. You never know. LOL.)  Check it out.  You will be filling your mind with goodness and bopping your head in the process.
Get involved in a small group or church.  Fellowship with other Christians is good for the soul.
Now, am I saying that you should not hangout with non-Christians? No way!  How else are you supposed to share Christ.  Go be the light.  Share His love through your words and actions.  Just be careful. YOU be the encourager.  Be careful not to fall into temptation.  It isn’t a sin to be tempted, but when you give in to it…yikes.  Please surround yourself with other Christians as well. Please!
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

So, it probably sounds like I’m typing this to someone specifically or from experience…yep, on both accounts.  Is this hitting home for you as well?  Friend, I am praying for you.  I pray that you will allow the light of Christ shine in and through you.  Others notice, for sure.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
