The months of May and June have been extremely windy, making conditions for fishing/boating difficult at times.  The scenario mentioned in the video occurred frequently due to the winds.

I am so grateful for my man.  Tim was in as much control of the boat as he could be.  The elements of wind, which caused great swells and waves, made steering the boat more interesting than planned. Yet, Tim was focused on the heading, watchful for each direction of the waves, and observant of any other vessels coming our way.
I remember years ago when it was just Tim and I on the boat while fishing on the east coast.  The wind and waves kicked up a notch.  Tim told me to take the wheel and to keep it on a specific heading, while he dealt with the rods.  My heart was pounding as I gripped the steering so tight.  I’d try to stay the course, but with each second that went by, my steering was continuously and frantically moving from left to right, as the boat was being tossed about in the water.  Terror filled me for those brief minutes that seemed like forever.  Handling a boat in those waters was not my forte.  So, while observing Tim take control of the boat in the rough seas, I was comforted and appreciated Him.
I was comforted in knowing that my man has been in tremendously much worse conditions than we were in on this specific day.  I was comforted in knowing that He was always observant, cautious, and calm.  His demeanor made me feel at ease and confident in my captain.
The whole time I was attentive to Tim’s actions, my perspective focused on God’s example.  God is always in control.  No matter how calm or rough life gets, He’s got you.  Nothing takes God by surprise.
When Tim would adjust the speed and direction of the boat so that we were safe and the boat wasn’t pounded so hard, it reminded me of how God directs our steps.
We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.  Proverbs 16:9 NLT
We may try to be in control and slow down or speed up situations in life, yet God just may be doing the same thing.
I want to encourage you to have faith in The Captain.  Take comfort and knowing that God is in control.  Keep your eyes on Christ and His path for your life.
I had faith in my captain, Tim. And I always have complete faith in my Captain, my Lord and Savior.
Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie
