Walking under a canopy of mangrove trees, I could hear the waves calling for me to come closer. Once my shaded walk was about to become a sunlit sugary sand view, I looked up to the sky and noticed a couple of reminders.
In the distance, storms were already looming over the water. This reminded me that we will have storms in life, yet these storms help us to rely on Him more, is character-building, and reveals Himself to us.
Ahhh, but what happens after the storm? God’s glory. The rainbow that was launching from the clouds to the sea symbolizes God’s promise.
This is my promise to you: All life on the earth was destroyed by the flood. But that will never happen again. A flood will never again destroy all life on the earth.” And God said, “I will give you something to prove that I made this promise to you. It will continue forever to show that I have made an agreement with you and every living thing on earth. I am putting a rainbow in the clouds as proof of the agreement between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth, you will see the rainbow in the clouds. When I see this rainbow, I will remember the agreement between me and you and every living thing on the earth. This agreement says that a flood will never again destroy all life on the earth. Genesis 9:11-15
When you read Life’s Instruction Book (the bible), you will be immersed in God’s promises. I want to encourage you to open God’s word daily, read it, believe it, and seek His promises which are in abundance.
Here are just a handful:
- God promises to love forever:
- Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
- God promises that you will find Him:
- But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29
- God promises you a new life when you surrender to Him:
- This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17
- God promises comfort to His children:
- All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
- God promises peace when we pray:
- Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
- God promises to return:
- There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you with me, so that you can be where I am. John 14:2-3
You may be going through a storm right now. I encourage you to turn to Jesus. Lean on Him. Trust in Him. Believe in Him. He will never leave you. I am praying for you, friend, and standing on the promises of God.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
