We have had our dog, Maui, for thirteen months. She is full of life, is very social, and loves to snuggle. To say that Maui has FOMO (fear of missing out) is an understatement. She loves being where the action is and close to you. Over the past year, Maui has become reliant on us, and there are times when we rely on her as well.
Observing Maui and her relationship with us, made me think about our dependence on God.
Over the years, I have mentioned how if we chatted or spent time with God as much as we do with…boyfriend/girlfriend, spouse, friend, job, hobby, social media, etc…just imagine how close your relationship with Jesus would be.
The more quality time you spend with someone, the stronger your relationship becomes as it grows into something deeply-rooted.
Think about how much time you spend with your Heavenly Father. Personally, my time in God’s word, listening to Christian music and pondering on Him, and chatting with Jesus throughout my day all forge my relationship with my Savior. Being close to God strengthens me in times of weakness, encourages me in times of doubt, gives me peace when it seems that there’s chaos around me, and fills me with unconditional love.
I’ll close by praying the following verses over you:
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. Ephesians 3:16-17
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
