This morning when I started off reading God’s word, I was embarrassed about the words I was reading. Ezekiel was all about prostitution, and believe me it was explicit in some areas. Ugh.
After reading through all the scriptures, I read James 4:8 to Tim and asked him what that verse meant to him. He, without hesitation, said “relationship”. Yes! That was the theme I was looking for. Relationships can be characterized in all of the scriptures today.
James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and He’ll come near to you.”
So how can verses from Psalm, Proverbs, James, and Ezekiel all be tied to relationships? Like this:
In Proverbs 28 we learn: Be honest, obey God, and be wise.
In Psalm 128 we discover that in relationships we must: Be respectful, honor each other and God, you’ll get what you work for, and enjoy peace.
Now, when reading Ezekiel 23 we learn of a few things that you should and should not mix with a good relationship: Don’t defile yourself and God or you’ll feel disgusted; Don’t be lustful and lewd; Don’t forget God; and remember that you’ll bear the consequences of your actions.
So how is your relationship with others? How is your relationship with God? Are you drawing near to Him? You realize that the more you spend time with someone the closer you grow towards each other and the stronger your relationship gets?
I sure hope you take time to strengthen your relationship with Jesus today. Draw near to Him and He’ll draw near to you.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Blessings to you.
