You know what drives me crazy? When I know someone has their cell phone on and they don’t answer. (I’m not mentioning any names…Hunter, Holly, and Tim) There have been times that any of the aforementioned culprits have sent me a text, and I’ve immediately called them back instead of texting due to the nature of the text. What happened? I’d have to leave a message and not hear anything for a while. Ugh!
If you have a cell, and are in a situation that you can talk, why not answer?
Now I know that there are times that I call or others may call me and it is not at a convenient time. Those moments are not what I’m talking about. But when you have JUST sent me a text, and I know where you are and are available, for goodness sake answer the phone. Please.
Imagine if God did this. Praise the Lord, He doesn’t.
In Psalm 138:3 we read “When I called to You for help, You answered me and gave me strength.” God answers. And not only does He answer, but He is quite the encourager too.
Here are a few more verses to echo His assurance:
- Psalm 50:15, God says, “Call me when trouble comes. I will help you, and you will honor me.”
- Psalm 91:14-16, The Lord says, “If someone trusts me, I will save them. I will protect my followers who call to me for help. When my followers call to me, I will answer them. I will be with them when they are in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them.I will give my followers a long life and show them my power to save.”
- Jeremiah 33:3, ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
This calls for James Taylor’s 1971 classic song “You’ve Got a Friend”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIS-RuoZxCI
No dropped calls. No out-of-area or out-of-service. No “I don’t feel like answering.” He is always there. He is actually waiting on your call. Call on Him today.
Blessings to you.
