A few years ago I was lying on a beach on the island of Anegada, BVI. The texture of the sand was unlike anything I had ever felt before. The colors of the sand were astonishing! Coral, yellow, green, blue, black, white, etc. were all there in the palm of my hand. I was mesmerized with the beauty of the combined colors and the feeling of the sand as I gently massaged the sand between by fingers and palms of my hands. If I were to even begin counting each grain of sand that was in my hands, let along all the particles that were clinging to my body, I would have gotten lost in my numbering and the dingy that was to take me back to the sailboat would have left me behind because the counting of each grain would have taken so long.
Do you think about God? I mean reaaalllly think about Him. Well, He thinks about you all the time! In Psalm 139:17-18 we read, “How precious are your thoughts about me. O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!”
How comforting to know that amongst all the other people, things, and situations that God has to deal with, He is also totally having me on His mind.
I bet if I were to think about God as much as He thinks about me, I’d probably see more of the good things in life and in people, accomplish my tasks with more ease, my day would go smoother without worries, and be just a downright pleasant individual to be around all the time.
Whether you are trying to count the grains of sand, clay, or blades of grass, or the hairs on your head or stars in the sky, think of God. He’s constantly thinking of you.
Blessings to you!
