What a day! I woke up excited to begin reading God’s word, and He definitely did not disappoint.
Really. I could feel the presence of God all around me this morning when I sat to open the bible (well, the online bible that is). A peaceful smile came over my face and I could feel all the pressures of life wash away. It was a wonderful sentiment. Every book I turned to; Daniel, Psalm, Proverbs, and Revelation, each had verses that spoke to me.
Allow me to share them all with you in the order that I read them. May you find comfort in His words also:
- 18 Then the one who looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning. 19 “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!” As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger and said to him, “Please speak to me, my lord, for you have strengthened me.” Daniel 10:18-19. Doesn’t that just make you smile right away? You are VERY PRECIOUS TO GOD! Not only does He make you feel special, but God encourages you when you’re down, gives you peace in times of difficulty, and strengths you when you are so weak you think you cannot carry on. I totally have witnessed all these emotions with a situation in my life within the past twenty-four hours. God is amazing, always faithful, and full of love!
- 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 139”23-24. I say these words often to God. It is easy for us to see the flaws in others. But what about our own shortcomings? Oh, there are many when I really reflect on myself. I pray that God will reveal to me anything, and I mean anything, that I do that is not pleasing to Him. And not only just reveal them, but give me the desire to want to change my ways and be proactive and do it. I want to please God. I want to put a smile on His face.
- 5 “Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Proverbs 30:5. AMEN! Did you hear that? Every word you read in the bible, God’s Holy word, is true! No mess-ups. God doesn’t make mistakes. You want Truth and comfort? Turn to God.
- 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.” Revelation 1:8. Enough said. Who is, who always was, and who is still to come. Oh glory! He is coming back soon. Be ready.
Now, don’t you feel better? I sure hope so.
I’m just saying….today is my birthday. Yep. And God started me off with the greatest gift I could receive today, the revealing of and the peace that comes from His true word. Thank You, God, for starting my special day off by knowing that I am precious to you.
Blessings to you.
