Every year I go for a physical examination. I also go to my dermatologist each year to check the outside of my body too. (I’m a Florida girl!) I haven’t had to go to a neurologist to check my mind, but sometimes I wonder if it is still there. Haha. The reports are not always perfect. So the doctors prescribe me with instructions on how to make things right. If I don’t follow the doctors’ orders I just may find myself in more trouble than planned.
In Psalm 26:2 David says, “Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;” (NIV) I often get a kick out of the wording from the Message translation. It says, “Examine me, God, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I’m fit inside and out.”
This examination shouldn’t be a yearly test, but a daily prayer.
Have you made your appointment with Dr. God? Allow the Great Physician to examine your heart and mind, and from head to toes. Follow His prescription for life. Open His Word and inject it into your mind.
“The Doctor will see you now.”
