What a glorious morning! The air was crisp and the sky was blue. It was a perfect morning for a walk.
I put the headphones on and started to choose which Pandora radio I wanted to listen to. Michael Buble’s name jumped out at me, and I selected his radio. I was in an “I want more of Jesus” mood, so each song that was played seemed to be turned into a love song to or from God.
The first song that played was “All of Me” performed by Michal Buble’. Perfect! There was a pep in my step and a song to Jesus on my lips. The lyrics say, “All of me, why not take all of me? Can’t you see that I’m no good without you”. Amen! Without Christ, I am nothing. John 15:5 reads, “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” I had to be careful not to close my eyes while I was walking on the uneven road. But I’m sure God heard my song/prayer to Him.
The next song was “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole, in the multi language version. What a great way to confirm that God doesn’t see color. He speaks any language. He wants all to know that He loves them. Here’s those lyrics:
L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore and
Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don’t break it
Love was made for me and you
Oh my, does He love us! In Romans 5:8 it says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God’s love is extraordinary. His love is extravagant. God is love!
Are you ready for this? The next song was “Stand By Me” by Ben E King. That’s another song that can be said to God. The second verse says, “If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall, or the mountain should crumble to the sea. I won’t cry, I won’t cry, no, I won’t shed a tear. Just as long as you stand, stand by me.” In Exodus 14:13 we read, “Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today.” Throughout the bible we read God telling someone to not be afraid. You know, we will have times of tumbles and crumbles, but as long as we stand by God, we shouldn’t be afraid.
Okay, one last song to tell you about and then I’m done. The entire song lyrics are too good not to post all, so here:
When the rain
Is blowing in your face
And the whole world
Is on your case
I could offer you
A warm embrace
To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows
And the stars appear
And there is no – one there
To dry your tears
I could hold you
For a million years
To make you feel my love
I know you
Haven’t made
Your mind up yet
But I would never
Do you wrong
I’ve known it
From the moment
That we met
No doubt in my mind
Where you belong
I’d go hungry
I’d go black and blue and
I’d go crawling
Down the avenue
You Know there’s nothing
That I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love
The storms are raging
On the rolling sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change
Are blowing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing
Like me yet
I could make you happy
Make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends
Of the Earth for you
To make you feel my love, To make you feel my love (lyricsmore.com)
“Make You Feel My Love” by Adele was one of the last songs I heard while on my hour long walk. Precious! Reread the lyrics and imagine God talking. There are a lot of people hurting in this world. You may be one of them. Just know that God will hold you. He will dry every tear from your eye. He won’t do you wrong, and He is right where you belong. Feel God’s love! Psalm 36:7 “How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.”
Thanks for allowing me to share my morning walk with you. God surprised me. I wanted an “I want more of Jesus” type of songs for my exercise, and He delivered in a great way.
Watch out, He will surprise you too.
Blessings to you.
