I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it. I’m about to…no, I won’t lose control, but I’m ready for another “new beginning”.
About a month ago I began praying as to what direction God wanted me to move concerning Soaking Up The Son. Do I continue to read through the bible and journal daily making a connection to the bible to our everyday life situations? Do I just allow God to reveal Himself to me through daily experiences (as He always does) and just write about those instances? What to do!
Three years ago I was challenged to read through the bible in a year. I did that for three consecutive years and learned something new each and every day. (God has a way of revealing something to you during a season of your life that you didn’t recognize or realize before.) The daily journaling is what actually prompted me to begin this website.
I made a comment to my husband and father-in-law about how I wanted to do something different this coming year and read the bible in chronological order. Well, Wayne (my f-i-l) must have been paying attention because for Christmas he gave me the New King James Version Chronological Study Bible. (Way to go, Wayne!)
So, today started a “new beginning” for me. I cozied up to the “soon-to-be-lit-fire” (…in my newly replace fire pit. Thanks, mom and Grandpa Carol for the gift.), had my Guatemalan blanket wrapped around me, and began reading. Did I tell you that I’m excited?!!
Now, as far as Soaking Up The Son, I’m going to allow God to continue to speak to me and through me however He sees fit. I am so grateful for all the faithful and newbees each day who allow me to be a part of your life (whether I know you or not). I pray that I have and will encourage you to dive into His word and grow closer to God. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…I am no theologian. I am just a girl who loves God and desires to know Him more, grow in His love and knowledge, and share Him and His coolness with others.
