While the mice are away the cat will play.
Well, while the fam’s away, mom will play.
True, this mom does get a day of play, but I sure keep thinking about my family!
Earlier in the week my mom told me that I needed to go see the movie “Mom’s Night Out”. Agreed. So I contacted some girlfriends, and set a date for us to go see this movie. Mom had told me that it was “sooo funny!”, so I was ready to unwind and have a good laugh.
It was great to hear mom laugh out loud at the scenes she had already seen before. Sometimes she would start to laugh knowing what was about to happen, and then there were those times she squealed with excited as if it was a surprise to her. Anyhow, it was a hoot, the movie and my mom!
The other cool thing was realizing it was a movie with a plethora of Christian themes. Yes! I love it when Hollywood goes Jesus on us! If you haven’t seen it, listen to my momma’s advice and go see it. Hollywood needs to know we want more “good” movies.
I was ready to see my family. Even though we were apart this evening, I knew that we were looking at the same sun setting in the beautifully God-painted sky. Holly sent me some photos from her local. Okay, her view was much better than mine. I’ll see that view soon enough. (Psalm 19:1 – “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.”)
In Ecclesiastes 3:1 we read, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Yes, there is a time to be refreshed as a mom with friends, and a time for the family to be enjoying activities with others, but I sure am glad of that time with we are all back together.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
Those are Blessed memories.
Yes it was great to be with my daughter and two of her high school friends and one of their daughters. It was special to me because it seems I don’t have enough of those momma/daughter times. If you haven’t seen this movie go see it. Great to see Jesus told.
