This year’s theme at school is “We Believe…”. We teachers, and students, can fill in the blank. Of course the first thought that came to my mind was, “I believe that Jesus is my Lord and Savior”.
Well, being that I work in the public school system, I don’t think that one would go over very well. Yes, it would with most of my faculty and staff, but “legally speaking” I need to live that more than say it.
I tossed around the idea of taking a bible verse on believing and restating it to fit my workplace. A few verses on believing I came across were:
- “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
- “I assure you, anyone who hears what I say and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life. They will not be judged guilty. They have already left death and have entered into life.” John 5:24
- They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Acts 16:31
- “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” 24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24
- And how can I not add to the list the infamous…“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
All awesome words of scripture, but nothing was coming to mind.
I could feel God put on my heart a bible verse that I often live by while teaching. So, with the help from Romans 5:4, here’s my “I believe” statement:
- I believe that perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. So work hard, never give up, and be courageous.
This statement doesn’t only apply to me, but God gave these words to you as well. So, no matter what situation or challenges you may have in your life, remember Romans 5:4 and work hard, never give up, and be courageous.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
OK – so I found out I was wrong. I first thought my girls were on the Lion team, but now I know they aren’t. We are disappointed, but so thankful at the same time. God has placed an amazing group of teachers and administrators there who do believe! I am still glad that they will see you every day and that they will be surrounded by His love. Still praying for you to have a GREAT year.
Yes. I discovered that when I finally saw my list. Our teachers are amazing! And your girls will be well taken care of.
