micah 6 8
“No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
When I read Micah 6:8 this morning, I couldn’t help but get a smile on my face.  This was the life verse of a special man who passed away of cancer.  Mike Storter was a young man, father, husband, coach, minister, and friend that lived life BIG!  (Click here to read more about Mike.)
This verse didn’t only remind me of Mike, but what a great way to be reminiscent of how we need to live.  Here it is in the Message translation:
“But He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women.  It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love,  And don’t take yourself too seriously—  take God seriously.”
I love it!
I pray that as you begin your new year that you will strive to do what is right, love compassionately, and like the latter translation says, don’t take yourself too seriously, but take God seriously.
Prayers of many blessings and much joy for you!  -Stephanie
