Against the law in Georgia to...have a donkey in the bathtub.

There were many rules given to the Israelites, but the one in Deuteronomy 25:11-12 cracked me up! I had to definitely read that one in five different translations to make sure I read that correctly. A good laugh is what I needed this morning, and a good laugh I got!  I am a very visual reader.  Imagining that scene was quite a “SMH” (shake my head) moment.
This led me to searching “silly laws” on my search engine. If you want a good giggle, go to one of the sites that pop up and enjoying amusing yourself, with caution. A couple of examples are:  In Florida, “If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle.” In Georgia, “No one may carry an ice cream cone in their back pocket if it is Sunday.”  Seriously? Haha.  Although, some of these laws are true, some may be strictly for entertainment purpose.
Regardless of the validity of those laws, those mentioned in the bible, God’s Word, are and were accurate.
Proverbs 11:5-6 says, “Doing right makes life better for those who are good, but the wicked are destroyed by their own wicked ways.  Doing right sets honest people free, but people who can’t be trusted are trapped by their greed.
In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 declares, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of Godmay be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
So go read God’s Word. Be teachable and learn from it. Remember in Proverbs today it said that doing right makes life better and you feel free. Who doesn’t want to be free and have a restored life? Go! (You know you want to read that verse in Deuteronomy. Hehe)
