Congratulations! You have just won a new car!!
When I was in my first two years of college, I would weekly go to my Grandma Parker’s home, eat lunch, and watch “The Price is Right” with her and grandpa. At some point during the show, you would hear the announcer say in an excitable voice, “You’ve just won a new car!” The crowd would go wild. The participant would jump up and down, turn around, hug Bob Barker, and/or be filled with enthusiasm.
Last year my family went to a Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game. It was a televised game, so during the commercial break they would often have something going on to keep the crowd entertained. During one break, there were five fans who had won a trip to the football game. Not only did they win a trip to the game, but they were each given a key. One of those keys was the key that fit into a brand new vehicle. As each person would walk up to the automobile and insert their key, you could feel the anticipation from the lucky individual and the crowd. “Ahhh” no luck for the first few. And then, the crowd applauds loudly, the lucky lady hurdles into the air. The key fit!
CONGRATULATIONS!! In Deuteronomy 30:20 YOU are given the key to your life. The key is to love the one true God, obey Him, and commit yourself firmly to Him.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 says, “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20 You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
It sounds like the choice is yours. You don’t have to play any game or enter any contest. All you have to do is choose Jesus. So go ahead, choose Jesus and drive your way into heaven. (Just don’t take any detours. Stay on the right road that He gives you. Use the bible as your guide book.)
