What’s up with the faces…checkout today’s “Minute-less Monday” video below.  My daughter laughs at these photos and says, “You’re weird!”.  Hahahaha

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23

What’s it going to be…the Spirit or the flesh?
Look…here’s a Good/Spirit vs. Bad/Flesh list.  I’m going to let you choose which characteristic list you want to strive to follow:
Good/Spirit:  love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (vv 22-23)
Bad/Flesh:  sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these (vv 19-21)
Before you choose (and hopefully it’s not a difficult decision), I challenge you to also ponder on the consequences of each characteristic.  I’m not talking about how it makes you “feel” in the here and now.  I’m referring to the true consequences that WILL occur in the long run.
Notice that in verses 16-18, the flesh and the Spirit are against one another:

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

You may observe the list, think of a situation, and go, “Ha! The flesh list is what I want to do right now?” Again, I want to present a challenge to you and urge you to practice the characteristic of self-control, and think before you choose to do what the flesh desires.
Remember… Against such things there is no law…there is NO LAW stating:  do NOT have joy…do NOT have kindness…do NOT be faithful…and you get the idea.
So have it!  I pray that you will strive for:  love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Is it always easy?  Nope.  Yet sooooo worth it.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
